Senior Marketing Associate, San Francisco

We are Give2Asia, a leading provider of philanthropic services that connects corporations, foundations, and individuals with charitable projects and social enterprises across Asia. Since 2001, Give2Asia has granted over $300 million in Asia, building a network of over 2,000 grant recipients and 15,000 donors in 25 countries. Give2Asia is seeking a talented professional to join its marketing program. If you are that person, you will join our team of 12 people in San Francisco to build Give2Asia’s brand and visibility with key U.S.-based audiences including corporations, corporate foundations, family donors, and private foundations, as well as our outreach to audiences in Asia.

Summary of Job Accountabilities

As the Senior Marketing Associate, you will work closely across departments to help shape the marketing and communications strategy for Give2Asia with support from other members of staff and marketing interns. You will work with an external agency to implement a strategy that grows Give2Asia’s online community and engages our audiences in campaigns using high-impact messaging that resonates with our key audiences.

Give2Asia has built a reputation of trust that is based on an existing network of thousands of vetted grant recipients and passionate donors. As a member of our team, you will be able to understand the story Give2Asia has to tell and communicate our story to various audiences using the most effective and appropriate tools.

Job Responsibilities

  • Produce e-newsletters, event announcements, press releases, and other emails to Give2Asia’s mailing lists;

  • Analyze email performance and make recommendations to meet or exceed KPIs;

  • Lead the drafting of content, formatting, and publishing promotional materials, including brochures and postcards publicizing Give2Asia’s service offerings;

  • Maintain and provide regular updates to Give2Asia’s website as a key platform to build visibility with donors and the philanthropic sector;

  • Write and publish blog posts that succinctly describe Give2Asia’s work through creative storytelling;

  • Participate in the creation of original multimedia content, including graphics and photos;

  • Use Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and other new media tools to engage audiences with high-quality content produced by Give2Asia and our partners;

  • Track and analyze the success of social media and online engagement initiatives;

  • Monitor social media trends and emerging practices. Evaluate social media practices and platforms for adoption by Give2Asia;

  • Collaborate with staff to identify opportunities to increase visibility of our programs and take the content from the hundreds of grants Give2Asia makes each year and communicate the stories in an impactful way;

  • Conduct staff trainings in developing their online and social media presence as needed;

  • Manage media relationships as needed.

 

Relationships

Reports To: President & CEO, Give2Asia

Internal: Works closely with Give2Asia’s Program and Marketing teams and Give2Asia’s field network.

External: Acts as primary point of contact with marketing agency and acts as a visible representative of Give2Asia, representing the organization at public events, partnership meetings, and other external settings that may involve donors, partners, prospective clients, grantees, and other constituents.  

 

Requirements

Experience

You have at least 3 years professional experience, including marketing and communications experience in the nonprofit and/or social enterprise sectors. You are a creative and visual story-teller with the following experience and qualifications, or their equivalent:

  • Committed to and enthusiastic about the mission, services and impact of Give2Asia, and able to engage others to join as partners and clients of Give2Asia; an abiding interest in building a platform for effective philanthropy in Asia;

  • Top-notch skills in social media (metrics, analysis, etc.) and basic web design. WordPress, Squarespace, or similar CMS experience preferred;

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite preferred;

  • Exceptional written communication skills, including editing and proofreading;

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in diverse cultural settings;

  • Ability to work well on small, cross-organizational teams;

  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously, proactively, and collaboratively;

  • Knowledge of and personal experience with philanthropic and nonprofit organizations working in the USA and Asia is a plus.
