The Give2Asia Tsunami Recovery Fund was established immediately after the December 2004 tsunami, which left over 100,000 people dead and many thousands more without homes, families, or jobs. On October 8, 2005, a massive earthquake shook northern Pakistan killing more than 73,000 people, injuring some 70,000 and leaving 3.5 million homeless.In response to this crisis, Give2Asia created the Pakistan Earthquake Fund in collaboration with The Asia Foundation and Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy.
