Apl.de.ap of the Black Eyed Peas recently started a foundation with the intent to give back to the Philippines and Asia. Their first initiatives are focused on the Philippines, and they are working with Give2Asia for disaster relief initiatives and cultural preservation projects.
Culture The Apl Foundation is supporting the work of Negros Women for Tomorrow Foundation (NWTF). NWTF began in 1984 to help women achieve self-sufficiency and self-reliance, particularly in Negros Occidental's low-income and depressed urban and rural communities. It seeks to increase women's awareness of their economic potential, to increase their skills and productivity andto improve their quality of life.
Immediate need is something that comes at a time when we all least expect it. The Apl Foundation has decided to reserve a percentage of its donations for the unexpected emergencies. These funds will distributed within Asia in the unlikely event requiring immediate economic relief cause by a manmade or natural disaster.
