SCHOOLS IN AFGHANISTAN
ACKU's collections - over 90,000 items in Dari, Pashto, English, and other languages - are largely generated from the Afghan government, UN Agencies, NGOs, international scholars, and observers. These consist of practical works on health, agricultural practices, political analyses, unique documents charting the struggle for women's rights, recent laws, rare mujahidin publications, newspapers and periodicals, cultural heritage documents, and many works of Afghan literature. The Centre's overall goals are to facilitate research and enhance the culture of reading, through its ACKU's Box Library Extension (ABLE) outreach project. Hence, ACKU aims to contribute to ongoing state building processes by providing access to knowledge. Today, the Centre is regarded as the richest source of information on Afghanistan in the region.

The Eastern Tibet Training Institute (ETTI) is empowering disadvantaged people in Eastern Tibet with the skills needed to access new economic and social opportunities.

Nanjing University (NJU) dates from 1902 when it was known as Sanjiang Normal School. During the following decades, it evolved as Liangjiang Normal School, Nanjing Higher Normal School, National Southeast University, the Fourth Zhongshan University, and National Central University. On August 8, 1949, National Central University was renamed National Nanjing University. In October 1950, as required by the Ministry of Education, the name was changed to Nanjing University (NJU). Shandan Bailie School of Gansu Province is a full-time secondary vocational school that was established in 1985 with the support of the Gansu government and friends from overseas, including the New Zealand China Friendship Society. The school trains students in a vocation so that they can better support their families and communities without migrating to a large distant city for work. The school also provides training for farmers. First established in 1896, Sichuan University has 109 bachelor's degree programs, covering the major fields in liberal arts, sciences, engineering, medicine and agriculture. After Sichuan was hit by a large earthquake in 2008, many students and families faced more financial difficulties.
