Disaster Preparedness for Donors
Give2Asia is pleased to announce a new opportunity for corporate and foundation donors. In partnership with the International Institute of Rural Reconstruction, Give2Asia has created a resource hub and fundraising platform for disaster preparedness programs in the most vulnerable South and Southeast Asian countries:
- The Philippines
For the past ten years, Give2Asia has connected corporate and foundation donors with the best local NGOs responding to over 40 natural disasters in Asia. However, over that period the disturbing trend of increasing frequency and severity of natural disasters in Asia has revealed itself.
Thanks to a three-year, $1.5 million grant from the Margaret A. Cargill Foundation, Give2Asia will research and evaluate disaster preparedness programs from the six countries above to form a collection of the most effective and innovative programs. Donors will have the opportunity to support effective programs in communities of interest through:
- Advised grantmaking;
- Employee giving and matching programs;
- Program expansion or sponsorship;
- Contributions to the Give2Asia & IIRR Disaster Preparedness Fund; and,
- Incorporating disaster preparedness programs into charitable goals.
Together, we can help mitigate the effects of natural disasters and climate change in communities across Asia. If you have any questions, or would like to discuss how this project might align with your philanthropic goals in Asia, please contact me directly at (415) 967-6331, or firstname.lastname@example.org.
