Child's Dream Foundation will provide a 4-year university scholarship for capable Myanmar students to attend an international university in Thailand. This will allow students from underprivileged backgrounds, such as migrants, refugees, and those directly from Myanmar, to attain employment and stability later in their lives. These funds would cover four years of tuition fees, as well as school books, uniforms, and the student's living expenses. Scholarships will be granted to students who will meet all criteria. PROJECT: INCULCATING CIVIC & SOCIAL CONSCIOUSNESS AMONG YOUTH
COUNTRY: SRI LANKA
Through Community Development Services (CDS), this project will train a minimum of 500 youths (aged 16-25) on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and its 30 articles over a 12-month period. These training workshops will be carried out in Sri Lanka's Western Province, and will cover the district of Colombo, with a focus on Kolonnawa and Maharagama, which are known to be political hot-spots with a diverse mix of ethnic groups.
From this initial group of 500 youths, a sub-set of 50 peer leaders will be identified to lead the project in their own communities. These youths will become the first human rights activists of the National Youth Services Council. For more information, please click here.
Agastaya International, an Indian NGO, is looking to complement their existing hub of innovative instruction facilities by creating a “Bio Discovery Center”. The Center aims to be an immersive, engaging and fun experience for children, and it will provide beneficiaries with an excellent foundation in Biology. It will focus on the providing economically disadvantaged youth in villages of southern Andhra Pradesh with access to quality education. A space like this will inspire and motivate children towards the study of Biology and open their minds to the many lucrative careers that Biology offers. For more information, please click here.
